Like, OMG, yarn.
The first half of my recent splurging arrived today, starting with a package from Knit Picks.
Originally, I had been planning to only pick out a few things for a swap I’m taking part in on Ravelry, however, it seemed like a waste to not take advantage of Knit Pick’s free shipping deal. I ended up going a little over board, however, and ended up ordered quite a few things that caught my fancy. The picture above is what I ended up with, after taking quite a few things out of my cart. I ended up ordering:
- Knit Picks Palette, in Masala (x 4)
- Knit Picks Palette, in Sweet Potato (x 4)
- Knit Picks Palette, in Currant (x 2)
- Knit Picks Palette, in Edamame (x 2)
- Knit Picks Palette, in Delta (x 2)
- Knit Picks Gloss Sock, in Pumpkin (x 2)
- Knit Picks Shadow Kettle Dyed, in Begonia (x 2)
- Knit Picks Shadow Kettle Dyed, in Clementine (x 2)
- Knit Picks Shadow Kettle Dyed, in Soot (x 2)
I do believe that the approaching Autumn is having a bit of an influence on me this year, as I picked out quite a bit of orange and deep red colors. Normally these are not among my top choices, but they seemed so warm and comfortable that I couldn’t resist.
The first of three eBay purchases I made also arrived today.
It is a skein of 100% recycled banana silk (200 grams / 135 yards), in the stunning Valentine colorway. I wasn’t expecting such a spectacular deep red, as the auction photo was quite orange, but I think I’m happier with what I actually received. Unfortunately, this one is not for me. As hard as it is for me to part ways with it, I will be sending it off as part of my swap package. I will just have to get another skein or ten for myself at a later date.
And lastly, while I was in Michaels, picking up some supplies to make a couple sets of stitch markers (some for myself, but mostly for gifts), I stole over to the yarn aisles and immediately found myself clutching two balls of Patons Stretch Sock in the Taffy Bonbon Caramel colorway. They came home with me, of course. They looked so delicious I couldn’t put them down.
